Get ready to go ‘Uptown’ in Canandaigua.
Uptown Canandaigua is a new development town officials there say is going to be an important component to continuing economic development along the busy State Route 332.
Uptown Canandaigua is next to the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and will boast a state-of-the-art, 8,000-square-foot energy efficient commercial space.
It will be ready for two restaurant tenants and two more retail spots.
“The Apogee and TruAgent team have been a great group to collaborate with and are clearly dedicated to bringing their vision to life,” Canandaigua’s Town Planner Shawna Bonshak said. “Not only do we believe that this development will pave the way for other Canandaigua Uptown initiatives, but it will also increase the vitality of our local economy and bring new, high-quality dining and shopping options to the region.”
A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for the exciting development along 332.
Town Manager Doug Finch told The Messenger that he saw the entire process as exciting for the community. “It’s been a long time coming,” he said. “The building they’re calling Canandaigua Crossings will be one of the buildings under the form-based code. We’re happy to welcome the new businesses scheduled to come in there.”
