Syracuse bounces back with win over Arizona State in Battle 4 Atlantis (full coverage)

Syracuse (3-2) bounces back to defeat Arizona State (2-4), 92-84 in the second round of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. All five starters for the Orange scored in double-digit points including Cole Swider recording his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Jesse Edwards recorded a career high of 21 points and tied his career high of eight rebounds. Buddy Boeheim notched 23 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Joe Girard III netted 16 points and Jimmy Boeheim recorded 11 points.

Graduate guard Kimani Lawerence led the Sun Devils offense with a double-double recording 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Syracuse (2-2) will face Arizona State (2-3) at Imperial Arena in the Battle 4 Atlantis consolation bracket. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m on ESPN2.

The Orange are coming off a 67-55 loss to VCU, while the Sun Devils are coming off a 75-63 loss to Baylor.

Syracuse and Arizona State have met three times prior to the Battle 4 Atlantis. Each of the three previous meetings were also neutral court affairs. The Sun Devils won the first game 93-77 in 1968. The next two were NCAA Tournament games, both wins by Syracuse. In 2009, the Orange knocked off James Harden’s ASU squad 78-67 led by Eric Devendorf’s 21 points. In 2018, Oshae Brissett had 23 points and 12 rebounds led the Orange’s 60-56 First Four victory.
