Reward being considered amid Schuyler County homicide investigation

The Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office and Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office are working with local leaders to establish a reward for information on the death of Richard Seeley.

The 43-year-old Orange resident was found dead inside his home. He died of a puncture wound to his chest.

The incident happened in August 2020, and District Attorney Joseph Fazzary and lead investigator Matthew Maloney are in the process of creating terms and conditions for a reward.

The reward is being offered by Crystal Butler, who shared a child with Seeley.

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office continues to request information from the public in this case. There’s a tip line, which anyone can call if they have information that could lead to an arrest.

That number is 607-535-8224.
