A former inmate at the Auburn Correctional Facility who brought on a lockdown by slashing a correction officer’s face was arraigned this week on an indictment.
Narada Matthews, 40, is no longer at the Auburn Correctional Facility, but faces an array of charges including several felony counts of assault.
According to The Citizen, Matthews pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
The incident took place on August 8, according to the union representing correction officers in New York. The officer was not identified, but taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.
The victim in this case required 30 stitches.
Other officers were injured in the case.
