Millions of Americans may be eligible for the latest stimulus check they’ve been asking for in one specific state.
California is expected to have a $31 billion dollar surplus of funds next year.
The state will be able to spend money in ways that will benefit their taxpayers, including the possibility for more stimulus checks.
Residents are hopeful that the Golden State Stimulus Program will continue into 2022, sending out another two checks.
The latest round of checks are still being sent through the end of 2021, when everyone that’s eligible receives a check.
Some residents will be getting as much as $1,100, and others will get $600.
Just last week 750,000 checks were sent out.
California residents that make under $75,000 annually and filed their taxes for 2020 before Oct. 15 are eligible for the payment.
Around 9 million people will get a check before 2022.
These checks are part of Newsom’s California’s Comeback Plan which set aside $12 billion for stimulus payments.
It’s not a guarantee that the program will continue through next year, but the extra money has residents hopeful.
