The East Rochester/Gananda Bombers (12-0) defeated the Medina Mustangs (11-1) by a final score of 26-24 in an incredibly exciting Class C Far West Regional at Williamsville South High School on Saturday afternoon.

The game went into the half tied at 6-6.

The Mustangs and Bombers each scored a pair of touchdowns in the third quarter and went into the fourth quarter tied at 18-18.

ER/Gananda regained the lead two minutes into the final quarter after a touchdown and a two-point conversion.

Medina scored a touchdown with seven minutes to go to cut the lead to 26-24, but the two-point try was unsuccessful.

The Mustangs had a chance to take the lead or win the game with 2:55 remaining, but they turned the ball over on downs.

With the win, ER/Gananda advances to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association semifinals Nov. 27 at Cicero-North Syracuse High School where it faces the Central Region champion, Chenango Forks.
