Police: Two arrested after pistol found inside during Ithaca traffic stop

Police report the arrest of two men following a traffic stop on Elmira Road, which resulted in felony weapons charges.

Around 7:30 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle in the 300 block of Elmira Road. During the roadside investigation a loaded, .22 caliber pistol was found.


The driver, identified as Debarks Brooks, 27, and passenger Raheem Daniel, 22, were both charges with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said in a news release that Brooks was on parole at the time of arrest.

They were arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
