New York State is updating visitation policies for nursing homes. The rules, which were given approval at the federal level last week, took several days for the state to adopt.
The changes at the federal level, which are now accepted by New York State, clear the way for visitation policies to resume the way they were before the coronavirus pandemic.
The state Department of Health says the new guidance supersedes and replaces any/all previously issued guidance and recommendations regarding nursing home visitation previously issued.
Visitation is now approved at all times for all residents.
