Troopers cruiser damaged after shoplifter attempts to flee in Victor, third suspect remains at-large

Police say a pair of Rochester residents were arrested at Eastview Mall after a shoplifting incident at Dicks Sporting Goods. At one point, one of the suspects backed into an officer’s cruiser while trying to get away.

Dekesiad Binion, 18, and Rashad Cordell, 21, both of Rochester were taken into custody after the incident, where they worked in concert with a third suspect steal merchandise from the store.


The third suspect fled and was not identified. Police said the value of the merchandise exceeded $2,000.

Binion was charged with grand larceny and reckless endangerment. Cordell was charged with grand larceny.

Both were held at the Ontario County Jail pending arraignment. No information was immediately available on the third suspect.
