The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of a 35-year-old village resident following multiple incidents and investigations.
Police were called to Jacqueline Vanwert’s residence for allegations of drug use and possession.
Officers found that she was in possession of methamphetamine. As result, Vanwert was taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Pursuant to a separate investigation, Vanwert is accused of punching someone in the face. She was charged with assault and harassment.
Then in a third investigation, police say Vanwert stole property from a local business. She was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
Police say all of the charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
