The U.S. Space Force has located a mysterious, unknown object orbiting around China’s satellite, Shijian-21.
Shijian-21 was sent to space as a way to look into cleaning up debris orbiting around Earth.
The object found is described as a rocket body, or an apogee kick motor. The AKM being close to the satellite is out of the ordinary because once they’re used to employ satellites for geostationary orbit, they’re designed to stay away from close satellites.
China keeps its space activity under wraps, so it may not even really be an AKM and people may never find out.
Space wars are also a worry, with countries saying their satellites are designed to learn more on cleaning up space debris, but they could easily use satellites to knock out other country’s satellites.
The United States, Russia, and China are at the forefront of a potential space war, with reports that China is tailing a United States satellite and adjusting its speed and orbit to try to keep up with it.
