State police perform traffic stop in Rochester, arresting three after unregistered handgun, high-capacity magazine found

Troopers say an unregistered handgun and three individuals were taken into custody after a traffic stop in the city of Rochester on Tuesday.

According to a news release, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations in Rochester reports the arrests of Teeriq Stanley, 21, Robert Perdue Jr., 21, and Demetrious Seymore, 20, all of Rochester for two counts of second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Stanley was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration.

The arrests stemmed from a Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail after patrolling an area of Farbridge Street in the city of Rochester.

Troopers say they observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign, and the front seat occupants not wearing seatbelts. A traffic stop was initiated and a loaded unregistered 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine was found in the vehicle.

All three were taken into custody, processed, and transported to the Monroe County Jail to await arraignment.
