Many groups have been pushing for a fourth stimulus check, but it looks like it’s going to be unlikely. What seems to be picking up traction though are groups trying to get stimulus checks sent to seniors who collect social security.
The Senior Citizens League has sent a letter to Congress asking for another check worth $1,400 to be sent to seniors.
Statistics show that there were over 5 million senior Americans living in poverty in 2019.
The Senior Citizens League has started a petition as well as sending the letter and has reached almost 75,000 signatures.
The goal, if checks are sent, is to send $1,400 to help offset the costs of rising Medicare and inflation.
Right now 69 million seniors are receiving benefits.
At the moment Biden’s administration is focused on the infrastructure bill, so it’s unlikely anyone, even seniors, will get a check anytime soon.
