It was a tale of two different matches for the remaining boys volleyball teams in the area over the weekend, as the Victor/Pittsford Blue Devils advanced to the finals in Class A and Midlakes’ season concluded in Class B.
The Blue Devils were able to outlast #3 Webster on Saturday night. Victor/Pittsford was able to jump out to an early 2-0 match lead on Webster, but couldn’t complete a sweep in the third set, and Webster was able to answer 2-1. Victor/Pittsford however didn’t plan to see a fifth set occur, and was able to oust the squad from Webster 3-1. The Blue Devils will now move on to the finals in Class A boys volleyball on Wednesday night, they’ll face the winner of #1 Penfield and #5 Fairport.

Earlier in the day on Saturday, the Midlakes Screaming Eagles set to battle against #7 Brockport with a sport in the Class B final on the line. The season for Midlakes came to an end however, as Brockport won in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-8, 25-23). Midlakes finishes the season 11-8, and in 2022 will return all but one player as senior Aidan Conover is set to graduate.
So much grit.
So much determination.
