‘- Watch Live Saturday at 5 pm (Subscription Required)

The Red Raiders girls soccer team continued their march to states after downing Haverling 2-1 on Tuesday night.  Pal-Mac now sits on the cusp of the state semi-final round, sitting in the way is now the regional round of play Saturday night.

Tuesday’s game against Haverling saw Reagan Diehl become the focal point of the offense, scoring a goal and picking up the assist Kylie Waeghe’s goal.  The team effort of the Red Raiders was shown in full effect while Maya Ikewood and Emma Robinson were kept in check during the game, however with both Diehl and Waeghe finding their strides during Pal-Mac’s sectional run the Red Raider attack is firing on all cylinders heading in the contest against Section VI’s Lewiston Porter.

Lewiston Porter enters the regional round out of the Niagara Frontier division in Section VI.  The Lancers have a record of 15-1-1 overall and 8-1-1 in league play.  Lewiston Porter will be heading in to the contest on a 13-game winning streak dating back to September 16th.  The Lancers leading goal scorer on the year is Sophie Auer, the junior has 31 goals on the year with 16 assists and a total of 78 points, and leading point getter Sarah Woods 87 total points.  Woods, a senior, has a balanced offensive stat line with 29 goals and 29 assists.

With the offensive numbers of both squads being high powered, the goal keeping may be the key to the match, with Pal-Mac’s Clare Boesel having the statistical edge with 96 saves and a 91% save percentage in comparison to Rebecca Hoffman for Lewiston Porter who has 50 saves on a 78% save percentage.  The Red Raiders and Lancers will meet Saturday night at 5 pm in Caledonia-Mumford, with Pal-Mac being the home team in the game.
