Francisco Lindor has a chance to win his third Gold Glove Award.
The Mets shortstop was named a finalist among National League shortstops, along with San Francisco’s Brandon Crawford and Pittsburgh’s Kevin Newman.
Lindor ranked second in all of baseball in outs above average with 20, behind only Nicky Lopez of the Kansas City Royals (25). Lindor won his other Gold Glove Awards in 2016 and 2019 with the Cleveland Indians.
Marcus Stroman and Taijuan Walker were surprisingly left off the list of finalists – Walker’s 7 DRS was second among all pitchers, behind only Dallas Keuchel. Stroman won a Gold Glove Award in 2017.
Thus, Lindor is the lone finalist from the Mets.
The winners will be revealed on Sunday, Nov. 7.
