Watkins Glen stole over $100,000 in public benefits by falsely reporting income

Investigators say a Watkins Glen duo were arrested on October 21 after an investigation into unreported income, which resulted in theft of more than $100,000 in public benefits.

Louis Latorre, 47, and Kimberly Latorre, 44, were charged with felony counts of welfare fraud, grand larceny, and offering a false instrument for filing.

The two are accused of ailing to report income they received, which made them ineligible for public benefits.

As result, they received over $100,000 in benefits illegally.

They were arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date.
