The state of New York is selling off $200 million in equipment purchased for the Buffalo Riverbend facility in 2015.
This is part of the Buffalo Billion investment, and Governor Kathy Hochul doesn’t support it.
Hochul stated that the situation is disturbing and it’s unacceptable to find out the equipment was sitting for years.
$22 million in equipment has already been sold, but the state is not sharing the dollar amount they’re making. It isn’t expected to be close to the original amount of money spent.
Hochul stated she doesn’t know, and that when she does then the public will know.
Tesla is currently the tenant of the building, and currently employs 1,000 people. By the end of the year it’s projected to employ 1,400 people and it’s projecting 5,000 jobs total.
