Recent study with one million participants using statin reveals lower risk of death related to COVID-19

One million people taking statin drugs, which reduces cholesterol in blood, showed they had a slightly lower chance of death regardless of their demographic.

40 million Americans take the drug to prevent cardiovascular disease and high cholesterol.

A study in spring of 648 patients showed the ones who were on statins had about a 50% less likely chance of dying.

Sweden and Australia conducted a study on one million people and found a slightly lowered risk of death among the population if they took statins.

The idea is that statin’s anti-inflammatory effects helped the immune system modulate itself in a positive way. Exactly how is still unknown.
