The State Attorney General’s office is now investigating an incident involving an officer shooting and the death of a woman in Syracuse.
The incident occurred Oct. 20 in Syracuse when crisis trained officers responded to a report of a person with a knife.
It is alleged that the individual set fire to the residence then charged at officers with the knife.
At least one officer shot the woman who was taken to a hospital for treatment before ultimately succumbing to her injuries at 4:01 a.m.
By law it is required that any death resulting from the involvement of any sort of officer be investigated by OSI (Office of Special Investigation).
