D’Amico Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram dealership along 5&20 in Geneva has been sold. And now, the transition to new ownership is complete.
Peter D’Amico Jr. started working in the car business in the 1960s.
When it came time to sell the business Friendly Auto Group made sense. For years Friendly has operated a Ford dealership nearby and eventually next door.
The transition between the two is complete despite some cosmetic reminders on the building that Friendly has taken over. The auto group also operates a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership on Route 14A south of Penn Yan.
“It was time (to retire),” D’Amico told the Finger Lakes Times. “I want to spend more time with my family. I’ve got grandkids in Connecticut and a daughter in (Philadelphia) and a friend in Florida, where I want to play some golf this winter. I’ve been selling cars since 1974.”
