One day after the Ithaca Police Department announced they were investigating a pair of shootings that happened in the city on Monday – Sgt. Thomas Condzella said the department was investigating a third.
Around 5:42 p.m. on Tuesday police responded to the Kwik Fill gas station on Elmira Road after callers reported a shooting.
Upon arrival evidence of a shooting was located – including spent shell casings and bullet fragments. It was also confirmed that the shooting took place between two males in the parking lot.
An occupied school bus was also parked near the gas pumps – and had been struck by the gun fire. Police said the only occupant – identified as the driver – was not injured.
Two suspects fled from the area on foot with a third male who was initially inside the gas station left the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival.
The investigation is ongoing and police are uncertain if the three subjects were injured. Police are asking the public to contact them if anyone believes they witnessed part of the event.
