Tompkins man had loaded gun, led police on pursuit, but was released on appearance ticket

New York State Police arrested a Tompkins County man following a pursuit on Saturday.

Robert Bailey, 41, was charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon, fleeing an officer in a vehicle, reckless driving, aggravated unlicensed operation, and false inspection.


The charges stem from a pursuit that occurred in the town of Groton on Saturday. The chase ended moments are it began.

Troopers also said that Bailey was armed with a loaded firearm.

State police said Bailey was released on appearance tickets.
