Dentists in private practice are not mandated to get the vaccine yet

The vaccine mandate covers most healthcare workers, but one sector of the health field missing from that mandate are dental staff in private practices.

While the State Dental Association strongly suggests vaccination to its dentists and staff, it is not mandated at the moment.

If the dentist works in a hospital as well as their private dental practice, then they are required to be vaccinated.

Many dentists double up on PPE with goggles and face shields as well as use a pre-screening process for their patients.

Whether dentists in private practice will be required to get the vaccine is unknown.
