Unemployment in the U.S. has dropped to the lowest point so far, but people aren’t looking for jobs

Unemployment is now the lowest it’s been since the pandemic started.

The less people that apply for unemployment, the less lay offs there are.

Hiring has slowed down and most businesses are still in need of employees.

Many people are simply opting to not work due to the spread of the Delta Variant. Officials had hoped applications would pick back up but that hasn’t happened, even with the federal aid ending.

Over 4 million people quit their jobs in August, especially in the hospitality industry.

Many states ended the federal unemployment early in an attempt to get people back to work, but that doesn’t appear to be happening as quickly as people had hoped.
