Teen ticketed for causing three car Seneca Falls crash: Motorcyclist ejected, two sent to hospital

Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries after multi-vehicle crash on State Route 89 in Seneca Falls. It happened at the intersection with Garden Street Extension, according to police, who released an update late-Thursday.

An unidentified 17-year-old was driving on State Route 89, and attempted a left turn onto Garden Street. As the teen started the turn – they pulled into the path of another vehicle operated by 18-year-old Troy Kabat, of Seneca Falls.

The two cars collided, a third involved vehicle – identified as a motorcycle operated by 53-year-old Mark Degroat, of Vestal, struck the rear of the teen’s vehicle and was ejected.

Both Kabat and Degroat were taken to Geneva General Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance.

The 17-year-old was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way.
