Investigators in Ontario County have provided new information on the larceny and pursuit that unfolded in Victor last week.
On October 4 around 3:30 p.m. deputies received a larceny complaint at Sally’s Beauty Supply in Victor. Upon locating the suspect’s vehicle, a traffic stop was attempted.
The driver, identified as Kenyatta Williams, 42, fled leading to a pursuit. The vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed and crashed into telephone pole south of the State Route 96 and State Route 251 intersection.
Three occupants of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital.
Williams was charged with driving while ability impaired, criminal possession of stolen property, and petit larceny.
An occupant initially identified as Megan Rae Buckland, was placed into custody for petit larceny. The total value of the merchandise recovered from Sally’s was valued at $991, police said. Investigators did note that there was other stolen property in the vehicle from other stores.
Nearly a week later, investigators learned that the woman identifying herself as Megan Buckland had given false information. She was identified as Melissa Miller, 30, of Rochester.
She isn’t in custody at this time, according to investigators, but a warrant has been issued for her arrest. She will be charged with forgery and may face other charges due to the false information that was provided to law enforcement.
Buckland, who was not present or involved in the crimes has been cleared fully, deputies said.
