A new law is in the stages of final approval that would allow parents to continue collecting child support for their children with developmental disabilities past the age of 18.
The age parents can petition for extended child support payments to is 26.
There are currently 40 other states that have similar laws that extend past the age of 21 for adult children with developmental disabilities.
