A delay in COVID-19 test results is being reported by the The Cayuga County Health Department.
Both employees of the health department and contact tracers work 7 days a week, but without the results in a timely fashion, they can’t contact those with positive tests.
Whatever site an individual had their test done at will be the site that contacts them with their test results first.
If positive, the health department will supply quarantine or isolation paperwork and conduct contact tracing.
While awaiting test results, it is asked that people stay home.
