The NHL’s newest team is giving Alex Barre-Boulet a chance to earn a job at that level.
The expansion Seattle Kraken have claimed Barre-Boulet off NHL waivers from Tampa Bay. Barre-Boulet was previously a star with the Syracuse Crunch, posting 136 points (69-67) in 144 games.
Barre-Boulet was named AHL rookie of the year in 2018-19 when he tied for the league lead with 34 goals and was a league all-star in 2019-20. He played 15 games for Tampa Bay last season but was the last cut from this year’s preseason camp.
In other lineup news Monday, forwards Boris Katchouk and Taylor Raddysh, both of whom broke in with Syracuse three seasons ago, have made Tampa Bay’s opening night roster.
He serves as Sports Director leading coverage of local high school, college, and professional sports. Click here to contribute to our sports page or email [email protected].
