Free File is software that the IRS offers for people who are below a certain income so they can file their taxes for free.
Anyone who has an adjusted gross income of $72,000 or less can file with Free File.
The IRS has partnered with other companies to offer the service and filers can choose a program to file with.
Anyone that makes above the $72,000 threshold can still use Free File Fillable Forms, and they should know how to file their taxes before using them.
