Employers are allowed to require the COVID-19 vaccine, and they may also fire an employee over it if they don’t have a good enough reason not to get it.
Deeply held religious beliefs and underlying health conditions that would prevent them from getting the shot are the only reasons an employee can refuse.
The hard part for this is they need to be proven.
Medically, a doctor will usually back a person up if it’s a legitimate medical reason, but for religion, it needs to be proven aside from just stating the belief.
People are using their religion being against fetal cell lines being used in the vaccine, however, things like Tylenol and Tums were created the same way. Many people claiming religious beliefs use these over the counter medications.
OSHA will be requiring any company employing over 100 people require the vaccine.
