First female ever sworn in to lead federal prosecutor’s office in Northern District

The first ever female has been sworn in to lead the federal prosecutor’s office in the Northern District of New York State.

Carla Freedman was the assistant before becoming U.S. attorney for the Syracuse, Binghamton and Albany region.

President Joe Biden nominated her and she was confirmed by the Senate. She replaces Antoinette Bacon, who had never been confirmed by the Senate.
