Lawmakers ask that money from $3.5 trillion dollar domestic spending proposal go towards child hunger

As plans are created to spend the $3.5 trillion dollars from the domestic spending proposal, lawmakers are asking the Senators in New York to include child hunger.

Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal and state Sen. Anna Kaplan want to expand a program that already exists to give access to food for children during the summer. It also feeds kids when school is closed and doesn’t require them to apply for free meals.

They’re also pushing to extend the child tax credit.
