Homeless people seek out substance abuse help during colder months

As seasons grow colder, homeless addicts seek out treatment for shelter.

Cayuga Addictions Recovery Services’ Brad Walworth said he doesn’t care what the reason is.

He said once they access some services they then have opportunities for other services.

They have a better shot and recovery even if it’s just the cold bringing them in.

A federal survey shows that 64% of people experiencing homelessness have substance abuse disorders.
