UPDATE: Active shooter at high school in Arlington Texas

Police responded to reports of an active shooter this morning at a high school in Arlington Texas.

Around 9:15 a.m. it was reported that shots had been fired on the second floor of the school.

Three people were injured and taken to the hospital. Two had been shot.

4 people were injured and police did not go into detail but said three were students and one may have been a teacher.

The suspect, 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins, has been apprehended and will be charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It appears to be a fight with another student that caused the shooting.

Simpkins turned himself in through a lawyer and a weapon was recovered.

Students were brought to a performing arts center to be picked up and most have been safely evacuated.
