Penn Yan woman faces felony charges after attacking hospital worker, police officer

A Penn Yan woman faces felony assault charges after attacking a worker at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, as well as an officer who took her into custody.

Cypress Race, 43, of Penn Yan was arrested by police after an altercation at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital.

Race had been discharged by the hospital and during a disagreement attacked hospital staff. The victim suffered injuries in the incident.

After being taken into custody and transported to Penn Yan Police Department headquarters for processing – Race attacked an officer with a fist.

Police say Race was charged with felony assault, felony attempted assault, and obstruction of administration.

Race was held on $5,000 cash bail. She will appear in local court at a later date.
