Governor Kathy Hochul has been endorsed for her race for Governor in 2022 by New York State Democratic Chairman Jay Jacobs.
13 WHAM reports that Jacobs announced his support Monday morning during a press conference, saying Hochul should remain in the position she obtained due to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s resignation.
Jacobs supports her responses to issues like COVID-19, extreme weather, and rent relief.
He has supported all of her decisions so far including her choice for Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin.
Jacobs hopes that the rest of the Democratic Party supports her, and thinks that she’s best suited for the job as an individual who has visited every county in New York, being directly involved in local government.
He’s stated that he’s sure there are others that want to run, but has confidence in her beating the Republican nominees if the party sticks together instead of dividing.
