The area has seen nine overdoses up to the point of Oct. 4 for the month, and four of them have been fatal.
According to 13 WHAM, deputies say there is a new pill available on the streets, laced with methamphetamine.
They also believe the pill is manufactured outside of the area and brought here.
New York State Attorney General Letitia James is putting in the effort to distribute money to counties in order to help fight the crisis.
$1.5 billion will be disbursed altogether throughout the state. The money is from the settlement with drug creators for their part in the opioid epidemic.
All together the Finger Lakes Region is set to get between $28.9 million and $52.7 million.
