A couple was having a picnic Sept. 29 in the area when their dog noticed a bear close by.
The dog was barking and ran toward the bear because it was unleashed, causing the bear to react aggressively.
The couple and their dog retreated to their vehicle for several minutes enduring repeated attacks by the bear.
The couple made it to their vehicle and sought medical treatment for injuries sustained.
All trails in the area are temporarily closed due to the aggressive nature of the attacks.
