Local nurses are anxious after choosing to not get the vaccine

Nurses are expressing feelings of anxiety with the vaccination mandate going into effect Monday.

Many in the Rochester area have voiced that they do not agree with how Governor Kathy Hochul is handling the pandemic and vaccines.

One nurse, Nina Fronczak, a registered nurse for Rochester Regional Health, says the governor doesn’t understand the situation and how short staffed it’s been for over two years.

With 23 years of experience, she’s been working the COVID floor since the beginning, and said nobody considers natural immunity anymore.

Fronczak decided not to get the vaccine and does not agree with the plan to declare a state of emergency.

Fronczak’s coworker, Nicole Hancock, has worked with Fronczak for five years and supports her decision to not get the vaccine even though she herself decided to.
