How common are COVID-19 breakthrough cases among vaccinated people?

It feels as if vaccinated people are contracting COVID-19 more often, but is that the case?

Yes- and experts expect them to become even more common.

Experts believe that thousands of vaccinated people will contract COVID, and that most people will catch it at some point throughout their life.

They believe that as an endemic respiratory virus, it’s very likely that most people will get it, but the important thing is to be vaccinated so when they do, the infection is mild.

That does not mean every case will be mild, but it can help minimize chances of hospitalization and even death.

The CDC recently released a report that showed unvaccinated individuals were five times more likely to contract the virus and ten times more likely to need to be hospitalized from it. They also have ten times the chance of dying.
