The Comptroller’s Office released an audit of the Penn Yan School District’s network access controls this week.
The report shows that district officials did not ensure that its network access controls were secure. They also didn’t regularly check network user accounts and permissions to decide if they were appropriate.
There were 1,100 user accounts not needed and six with unnecessary administrator permissions.
The district agrees and plans to make necessary corrections.
