A memorandum has been filed by Governor Kathy Hochul, Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker, and Attorney General Letitia James in opposition to the motion filed to block the vaccine mandate on the grounds on religious exemption until Oct. 12.
Hochul is still saying if healthcare staff do not get the vaccine they will be fired.
She announced that she would soon share plans for healthcare facilities struggling from losing staff.
Hochul stressed how tragic it would be if an unvaccinated worker infected someone within their care.
Director of Surgical Intensive Care, Highly Infectious Disease Unit Dr. Paritosh Prasad said the exhaustion has been going on for 18 months.
Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse Manager Chris Burleigh said it takes the hospital staff working with the community to help fight infections.
Both would like to see vaccine rates increase for the hospital.
