The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes has been awarded $7.6 million dollars to share, and $152 million to use for technical assistance and finding ways to support creativity and engaging the public.
Governor Kathy Hochul wanted to make sure there was a way to bolster creativity and programs that support community arts after the pandemic.
Since June, $6 million in grants have been distributed to community regrant sites by the ARTS Council.
The Council helps support around 1,200 organizations in the state and allows for funding to go directly to artists and art organizations locally.
