Drunk driver crashes in Richmond: Car ends up in shallow creek

On Sunday around 6:19 a.m. first responders were called to an area of County Road 15 and County Road 37 in Richmond for a vehicle crash.

The driver, identified as Samuel Berger, 19, of Bloomfield was driving east on County Road 15 when the vehicle left the road. As result, it struck a stop sign and came to rest in a shallow creek.

Berger was not trapped in the vehicle, nor did he suffer any significant injuries, deputies said in a news release.

He was arrested for driving while intoxicated after it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was also ticketed for failing to stop for a stop sign and failing to keep right.

The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
