Car manufacturers are still struggling from the shortage of parts due to the pandemic, and that is likely to continue for another two years.
The biggest issue is the global chip shortage, and locally the car dealerships are feeling the impact.
Rochester Automobile Dealers Association President Brad McAreavy says the demand is high for semiconductor chips and it’s causing a lot of uncertainty in the industry.
McAreavy said that options are so limited in the vehicle market right now that people are better off staying out of it if it isn’t absolutely necessary.
Congress has created the Chips Act which will work to address the shortage of chips.
