Eli Lilly’s COVID-19 treatment is given emergency use authorization by the FDA

The FDA has approved the emergency use authorization for the use of Eli Lilly’s COVID-19 treatment in anyone exposed to COVID-19 that are at high risk.

The approval is for anyone ages 12 and up and is an antibody treatment to help fight the disease before it progresses.

It is similar to the antibody drug from competitor Regeneron Pharmaceuticals that was also FDA approved.

The goal with antibody drugs is to reduce the risk of death before an infected individual enters the hospital.
