Data has shown that financial aid and tax credits are boosting the number of New York residents enrolling in healthcare coverage through the state.
Between March of 2020 and August of 2021, 1.4 million residents signed up for insurance through the marketplace.
Enrollment will remain open until the end of the year.
Since its inception, 6.3 million people have enrolled in healthcare through the state.
Many people enrolled in the state’s programs pay under $100 per month and in August alone almost one million people signed up for insurance through the Essential Plan. Many are under the age of 35, showing younger and healthier people are signing up.
