A 21-year-old man has been indicted on charges by a Grand Jury in Chemung County for kidnapping, torturing and killing a man.
Thomas Bovaird is accused of kidnapping, torturing and killing Juan Jose Gotay.
Bovaird allegedly shot, kicked, struck, and mutilated Gotay in various ways of torture before dumping him in a remote area in Pennsylvania to die.
Gotay’s body was found in Ulysses Township on Route 6 in April. He was tied with an electrical cord before being dumped in another state.
Bovaird and others are accused of kidnapping Gotay around January 29-30 and it is unknown how long Gotay has been deceased before he was found.
Bovaird has been charged with first degree murder, kidnapping in the first degree, two counts of assault in the first degree and two counts of assault in the second degree.
Police could be seen at two different homes in Elmira searching for something in relation to this case, and appeared to be digging but the reasons are unknown.
